Each year a financial grant is given to a Jefferson County nonprofit organization that offers a creative program serving women and/or girls. Past grants have gone to Dove House, the Port Townsend Marine Science Center, Friends of the Library (PT), Olycap, Centrum, and the Clemente Humanities Course in collaboration with Dove House and Kitsap Bank. The major fundraiser for the Fund for Women & Girls, the show melds art and fashion, using the human form as a kinetic part of an art piece. The Port Townsend Wearable Art Show, modeled on wildly popular wearable art shows in Ketchikan, Baton Rouge, Halifax and Wellington, New Zealand, has become the hit of spring, selling out yearly.

Volunteers are critical to the success of the FW&G.  Join the team by offering to usher at the Wearable Art Show in May, assist at one of our educational events or work on one of our committees. There are many opportunities to participate.
